Enterprises play a key role in sustainable development. Delta has long paid attention to the development of various international sustainability initiatives and responds to issues assessed to be consistent with its philosophy and that can achieve full results from collective efforts.

SDGs

Seven key development goals

The United Nations initiated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 and established 17 issues and goals related to global sustainable development. The SDGs help Delta assess whether its product development is in line with global needs and how it can exert greater influence of its business mission:"To provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow." After discussion and resolution by its ESG committee, Delta has decided to focus on seven SDGs as its key development direction for the future.

We Mean Business

Commitment to Achieving 6 Major Action

Delta has long focused on the issue of climate change, which is a specific extension of its commitment to ESG. Delta participates in important international initiatives, committing to adopting a science-based carbon emissions reduction target, reporting climate change information in mainstream reports as a fiduciary duty, engaging in a responsible corporate climate policy, conversion to electric vehicles and expansion of charging facilities, promoting 100% renewable electricity, and committing to report nature and biodiversity information in mainstream reports as a fiduciary duty. Delta also became a TNFD Early Adopter in the year 2024.

  • SBTs

Goal of achieving net-zero science-based targets by 2050

In 2017, Delta estimated its carbon reduction responsibility based on the simulation scenario of global warming within 2°C put forth by the International Energy Agency (IEA). Delta set an annual carbon intensity reduction target of 56.6% by 2025 with 2014 as the base year. It also passed a compliance review by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in December 2017 as the first company in Taiwan and the 87th in the world to pass the review.

In 2021, Delta joined the "Business Ambition for 1.5°C" Campaign, and met its science-based target (SBT) set in 2017 four years ahead of schedule in 2021. We continued to actively pursue a 1.5°C reduction pathway in 2022 in accordance with the Net-Zero Standard published by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) at the end of 2021. We obtained the SBTi validation in the same year and became the first high-tech hardware equipment company in Asia and the 125th company globally to pass the review for net-zero science-based targets.

Delta has attained SBT 1.5°C net-zero with individual stages for three consecutive years from 2022 and 2024.

  • RE100

Committed to 100% Renewable Electricity and Carbon Neutrality by 2030

Delta announced in March 2021 that it had joined the RE100, a global renewable electricity initiative, and had pledged to achieve the goal of 100% renewable electricity and carbon neutrality by 2030 for all of Delta's global locations. We are the first company in Taiwan's high-tech manufacturing industry to commit to achieving the RE100 target by 2030.

Delta's operations are located across more than 30 countries on five continents and we will focus on independent energy conservation, self-generated power, and investment in renewable power plants. We use power purchase agreements (PPA) for the direct purchase of renewable electricity, green electricity products, and unbundled energy attribute certificates (unbundled EACs) for certain operations to meet the commitment targets.

In 2024, the use of renewable electricity at Delta's global operation sites reached 84%, which exceeded the internal target of RE74.
Delta received the RE100 Market Trailblazer Award from the RE100 Leadership Awards in 2024, becoming the first company in Taiwan to receive this award. The RE100 Market Trailblazer Award recognizes companies that play a leading role in renewable electricity transformations in the market, especially those that have demonstrated innovation and influence in markets that are not yet mature.

  • TCFD

Delta implements climate change management and disclosure based on the four core elements of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S2 Climate-related Disclosures, including climate governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets.

    • Governance: In 2025, the Global ESG Committee, a board-level committee, serves as Delta's highest-level internal supervision organization for climate risk and opportunity, and supervises Delta's climate change risk and opportunity management.
    • Strategy: We analyze the climate-related risks and opportunities based on the latest internal and external regulations, scenario analysis, and strategies, and implement management on the basis of "mitigation," "adaptation" and “innovation.”
    • Risk management: Delta incorporates nature and climate-related factors into the identification process. Through regular risk identification, risk assessment, risk prioritization, risk response and monitoring processes, we aim to grasp potential impacts early and enhance Delta's resilience and sustainable operations capability.
    • Metrics and targets: Set key indicators for internal and external goals and actively implement sustainability commitments.
  • TNFD

    Implemented TNFD framework since 2021

The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) launched the beta framework in 2022 and Delta disclosed the corresponding information for the four pillars for the first time in the 2021 ESG Report. To continue to monitor the latest trends, Delta evaluated its potential membership in the TNFD Forum in late 2022 and became an official member in 2023. We further become a TNFD Early Adopter in 2024, and published the 2023 Delta Electronics TCFD & TNFD Report for the first time and disclosed it in accordance with the official version of TNFD v1.0.

Delta also Became the first corporation in Taiwan to serve as an official observer at the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) COP 16 conference and held 3 side events.

  • EV100

Committed to fully transitioning to electric vehicles by 2030

Delta joined the EV100 low-carbon transportation initiative in 2018 and became the first EV100 member that is a provider of energy infrastructure facilities for electric vehicles. Delta has worked with leading companies and organizations in sustainable development across the world to jointly support low-carbon transportation. Delta is committed to providing charging facilities at Delta's operations and production plants within the scope of its global energy management and converting company vehicles to electric vehicles such as battery electric vehicles and hydrogen vehicles before 2030. This will reduce carbon emissions from transportation and fulfill Delta’s mission: “To provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow.”

In 2024, plants in Taiwan implemented a reservation management system to systematically manage the use of charging piles and improve charging resource utilization. On the other hand, the Shanghai R&D Center installed the "Solar, Storage, Charging” system, which integrates solar power, energy storage, and charging facilities, in order to fully utilize renewable electricity.
